Okay, I'm not knowledgable about the gaming world, but it is my fair opinion to believe the Rayman series is one of the funnest games out there. So .... discuss here. Rayman's the dude with no arms or legs, and instead has floating hands and body. He goes around his crazy world, defending it from Robot Pirates and Zombie Chickens.
Personally, my most fav character is Murfy (When he was sarcastic and funny in Rayman 3. In rayman 2, he was too sissy and fairy-like)

Ya know, iv never played an of the Ray-man games, but I can say that they do look like good fun. Normally I’m into a game that will give me a good sense of Horror and really scare the crap out of me (i.e Dead Space/ Silent Hill) but I have to admit iv picked it up a couple of times and pondered getting it. Is there one that is better than the others that I could get?

It's all up to opinion really. I've never played rayman 1, so no opinion there. Rayman 2 has an okay-ish story, memorable cartoony creatures, bad-ass villian, and is actually very dark for a children's game (Uses alot of "fairy-tale" and "voodoo" elements).
Rayman 3 is usually under-rated, but I found the gameplay simple and fun. Plenty of action, with epic boss fights. 3 may look like a regular children's game, but the characters are all actually pretty funny, and have lots of innuendo hidden in what they say (specially sexual ones).
Although, again, up to you. Rayman looks all childish (which isn't really bad in the first place) but it does have plenty of darkness. Not mind fucking horror, but still darkness.

Ok, reallllllllllllly sorry for the late reply, I hadn’t placed a bookmark and hadn’t checked back into this thread so really sorry again! Not mind fucking horror, but still darkness. Well, that’s me sold! Had a word with a good friend who plays anything, and I mean anything (this guy is an ambidextrous game genre player!!!) and he advised 3, also Iv had a look on You-tube as well at the different games and 3 seems more up my street; so ill be taking a stab at it over Xmass.

Rayman 3 is ok. They have some pretty weird levels. Invisible floaty stuff and such. Personally apart from my brother I've got the weirdest, or rather oldest. bunch of game stuff. So I have a load of PS1 games and memory cards. Meaning I'm pretty much taken on Rayman 1. Honestly graphics are less good, it's left to right screen instead of 3d, but got to say if you've got the gear to use the PS1 Rayman 1. I'd definately have a go at it as well. Same with Tomb raider really, you've got to play the first release before you do any other games. Personal opinion, don't play any later games until you've atleast played the first.

Well, it will be cheep enough for a Ps1 game, so i'll probably get both!!!! ;D
